In close partnership with the Children's Aid Society of New York and their flagship school, Children's Aid College Prep Charter School (CACPCS), this collaboration involved the adaptation of the existing SECURe K-3 curricula to a stand alone version aligned specifically to CACPCS school-wide values. In addition to a new CACPCS Life Skills Program and on-going training and support for CACPCS classroom teachers, social workers, and other school staff, this partnership also led to the creation of a SECURe Professional Development Program (a series of SEL-focused workshops and resources for teachers), as well as the creation of the SECURe Families Program (a series of monthly workshops for parents and family members, facilitated by a mental health consultant; also aligned to the SECURe classroom curriculum and teacher PD). In 2014, select SECURe strategies (e.g. Feelings Tree, Feelings Thermometer) were integrated into CAS city-wide summer programs for low-income children across all five boroughs.
